We are WRITERS who believe in the ART and the CRAFT of poetry. We acknowledge there is a time to be solitary and a time to bring our work to the light and to audience. We are interested in reading and publishing and finding larger audiences as well. We share new work, giving and recieving helpful feedback from colleagues. We ask for honest helpful critisism and an acknowledgement of standards. By gathering we strive to create community and opportunities for performance and publication.

This Mesa-based group is for folk-rock-blues oriented acoustic guitar players/singers from beginner to advanced level. The idea is to get together on a Sunday afternoon to play individually or with others. Open mics with a PA system would be a natural follow on. I started the group because I could not find anything like it. We have got off to a good start, good people, that's why. Ben

Sacred Harp singing is a community musical and social event emphasizing participation, not performance, where people sing songs from a tunebook called "The Sacred Harp" first published in 1844. Many of the songs come from the British Isles, New England and the American South. Traditionally, the notes are represented by shapes to facilitate sight reading. "Sacred Harp" refers to the human voice in general or the vocal chords in particular. No musical instruments are used.
